Have you always been involved in real estate?
No, prior to my real estate career I held many positions in the retail industry including my last retail position as General Manager for several New Balance shoe company retail stores in NYC. My interest in pursuing a real estate career was influenced by my partner and wife, Denise Olivares. I thank her every day for exposing me to the industry I deeply love!
Why did you get involved at NEAR?
My business partners and mentors Linda Early & Blaise Coco instilled in me from the beginning how rewarding and important it is to be involved and giving back to our association. They encouraged that as a young REALTOR® success was attainable by developing relationships with industry experts, absorbing all educational opportunities, and volunteering in the communities we served. I quickly realized that NEAR provided these opportunities through involvement within the committees, educational and networking events, as well as further involvement in leadership. I can say that I owe my success to the many NEAR peers that took the time to share their knowledge. The exposure to being involved with NEAR gave me a greater understanding on the importance of being a REALTOR®.
What’s your coolest career experience to date?
Its tough to measure the coolest moment as I find that every day I am given the opportunity to deeply touch people’s lives. Which is pretty cool in itself! If I had to narrow it down it has to be the smiles of my clients at a closing! Having a direct impact on helping people achieve the American dream of owning a home is the coolest moment for a REALTOR®. I live for that!!
What do you wish you had known earlier in your career?
Time management and the importance of a database for cultivating a culture of follow up with your past clients. It took some time to implement these processes and they are so pivotal to the success of a REALTOR®.
Fun fact about you?
