Property Management
(MA: RE42R05/NH: E860) The student will learn the seriousness of managing property, the liabilities and responsibilities. The difference between a special agent and a general agent, and who needs to be licensed to be a property manager. The different types of leases: net leases, gross, percentage, index, triple net, ground lease, etc., and who should do the sori & cori check. Also, fair housing issues, section 8 and how to spot a meth house, etc. This is a real eye opener for all agents whether you do property management or not.

Environmental Issues
(MA: RE63RC10/NH: E1412)Learn about the liability and health effects associated with lead paint, radon, asbestos, electro magnetic waves, wetlands, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, water quality testing, well water systems, remediation costs, oil tank laws, and more.

Smart Growth, Smart Energy
(MA: RE59R09/NH: E1356) More and more Americans are seriously considering green construction and adding new energy-efficient upgrades—and determining that the cost is worth it. Increase your understanding of smart growth/smart energy tools and policies, as well as the various concepts included in the Massachusetts Smart Growth/Smart Energy initiative. Includes case studies from Lawrence, Lowell, Pelham, & more!
