We are so excited to hear that you are interested in transferring your membership to NEAR! It is an easy process so long as you are "in good standing" with your current REALTOR® association. Below are steps in transferring your membership to NEAR from another REALTOR® association.

Step 1

Request a Letter of Good Standing from your current REALTOR® association. A Letter of Good Standing verifies that you are an active REALTOR® with an association other than NEAR, and that you comply with all of the associations’ rules and bylaws for conducting business within that association. Once you obtain this Letter of Good Standing, it can then be uploaded and submitted to NEAR.

This is different than a letter of good standing required from the state licensing authority to get your license in another state. It relates to your REALTOR® membership only in this circumstance.

Pay any necessary dues.

Transfers within Massachusetts: Local membership dues are waived when transferring membership from another REALTOR® Association to NEAR and Massachusetts and National Association of REALTORS® membership dues for the current year were paid in full to your previous association.

Out-of-State Transfers: If you're transferring from another state, you will likely need to pay dues to the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®, which gives you access to online forms, legal, advocacy, and other benefits. Your dues to the National Association of REALTORS® for the current year were paid with your current association.

Step 3

Complete NEAR's Online Application. To ensure we have the most accurate contact and brokerage affiliation information as well as your experience and business tenure, we ask that you complete our membership application. It is important to input your current Member ID (formerly NRDS number) on the application - it's unique to you and ties together your REALTOR® membership data at local, state, and national levels! Transferring from NEAR?

We're sad to see you go, but we're happy to assist with your needs! If you're transferring from NEAR to another REALTOR® association, you will likely need a Letter of Good Standing from NEAR for your new association.
